Position Description:
Fellow will work directly for the Foundation for the Social Connection (F4SC) but in direct support of the Global Initiative on Loneliness and Connection (GILC). The Fellow will support GILC’s CEO on various strategic and operational objectives to further the mission and vision of the organization. Fellows must enjoy working in a small but growing office that is results-focused. The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, strong written and verbal communication, executive presence with global leaders from across 20 nations and multi-national organizations like the World Health Organization, excellent administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Working knowledge of social, mental, and physical well-being is required.
Hours:
Flexible (during normal operating hours) depending on the applicant’s student enrollment status, with a commitment of 25-30 hours per week; applicants can work remotely and/or in our DC office. We are looking to onboard a Fellow ASAP, preferably before October 1, 2024.
Responsibilities:
Fellows will work on behalf of Foundation for Social Connection leadership in support of GILC, its CEO, and its mission, vision and body of work in various capacities. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following:
Fellows would be expected to contribute substantially to our communications strategy across our Social Isolation and Loneliness body of work.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have or be currently enrolled in a master’s degree program.

Compensation:
Fellows should expect competitive compensation commensurate with experience and level of coursework. Actively enrolled students can expect school credit, if relevant, in addition or in lieu of financial compensation.
Further, the small size of our office provides many opportunities to work directly with high-level staff, develop relationships, and network in Washington, D.C. and globally (virtually) with important stakeholders.
