After spending many years in the graphic arts field, Ted Kagan went back to school for a teaching credential. He substituted for several years and, since 2015, has been an adjunct instructor at San Diego Community College/College of Continuing Education, teaching Storytelling.
Since reading the report by Dr. Murphy on loneliness and isolation, Ted became very involved in preventing this in the San Diego area. He started a class at the community college called Rediscover San Diego by Public Transportation, which has become very popular and intergenerational. He is also involved in the San Diego Council on Aging and the California Senior Legislature, and has given presentations on the prevention of loneliness.
