The Opportunity: We are seeking an Associate Program Manager to support the implementation and engagement efforts of our community-centered social connection initiatives grounded in the Action Guide for Building Socially Connected Communities. This role will focus on fostering community partnerships, peer learning, logistical coordination, and program implementation. The ideal candidate has strong project coordination skills and is passionate about supporting community-led solutions to address social disconnection.
About the Action Guide
The Action Guide for Building Socially Connected Communities is an interactive six-step, evidence-informed framework designed to help local leaders and change-makers strengthen social connection in their community. The guide supports communities in reflecting on current levels of connectedness, engaging diverse partners, identifying priority strategies, and co-creating sustainable social connection action plans. Through the Action Guide Planning and Technical Assistance Program, F4SC provides participating communities with training, peer learning, technical assistance, and stipends to implement the guide. The approach is rooted in equity, emphasizing the inclusion of those most at risk of isolation, and aims to address systemic barriers to belonging while fostering healthier, more resilient communities. This role will directly contribute to implementing and expanding the reach of the Action Guide, supporting communities to design, measure, and share their progress to advance social connection.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Implementation & Engagement
Coordinate and support Action Guide community cohort learning activities, including scheduling, communication, and documentation
Build and maintain relationships with local leaders and community-based organizations
Help plan and execute cohort convenings, peer learning sessions, and webinars
Support collection and amplification of community stories, quotes, and bright spots
Program Support & Operations
Track project milestones, timelines, deliverables, and key outcomes for community-centered initiatives
Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and follow-ups
Improve and maintain systems for internal knowledge-sharing and cohort management
Work with community partners to track and summarize progress toward goals, and contribute to reporting on collective impact
Assist with the development and integration of content and tool advancement
Stakeholder Engagement
Build relationships with cross-sector partners, including local government, nonprofit, grassroots, and institutional leaders
Provide logistical support for technical assistance and coaching sessions
Support relationship cultivation and outreach to prospective cohort communities
Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant experience in community engagement, organizing, public health, social impact, or nonprofit project coordination, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building and facilitation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of working effectively with diverse communities
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to support logistics, coordinate schedules, and keep teams on track
Familiarity with social connection, social capital, or place-based strategies a plus
Proficient in Google Suite, Zoom, and project management platforms like Asana or Airtable
Experience designing or supporting communities of practice, learning networks, or peer-based programming is a plus
