Dakota Cintron, Ph.D.

Dakota W. Cintron, PhD, EdM, MS, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Behavioral and Organizational Sciences at Claremont Graduate University. His research focuses on the measurement of social isolation, loneliness, and connection and their implications for health and well-being across the lifespan. He has coauthored studies examining longitudinal trajectories of loneliness in U.S. military veterans, social asymmetry and physical health in the United States and Japan, and associations between generativity and social asymmetry among older adults in Japan. His work also highlights the role of social relationships in reducing pain interference and medication use among adults with chronic pain.

Dr. Cintron’s broader research bridges psychological science, data science, and public health, with expertise in psychometrics, longitudinal modeling, and equity-focused measurement. His work has been supported by fellowships and awards from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Council on Measurement in Education, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and the Educational Testing Service.
