Emily Pinto Taylor

Emily Pinto Taylor, MD is an attending physician in the division of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, where she works primarily in the outpatient palliative care clinic, as well as in the division of General Internal Medicine, where she attends on the inpatient medicine teaching service at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta’s historic safety-net hospital in the heart of the city. Her professional interests are in teaching primary palliative care skills to resident teams, focused on communication skills at the end of life, as well as in the mitigation of moral distress experienced by trainees through the facilitation of peer debriefing. In addition, she is interested in understanding grief and loss as experienced by African-American women facing familial traumas, interpreters working with limited-English proficiency patients and their experience of transferred trauma during difficult experiences, and the use of social prescribing to impact social isolation among patients experiencing serious medical and mental illness.
