Karina Duffy is the Program and Research Coordinator at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health’s Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness. The Center’s mission is to develop a rigorous and interdisciplinary science of positive health, happiness, and well-being, with a focus on health equity. She supports the various programs of the Center and assists in building relationships with local and global partners to translate research into practice and policy.

Additionally, Karina works as the part-time NEAR-P (standing for Neuroscience, Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences, Resilience, and Protective Factors) Science Coordinator and Vice Chair for The Self-Healing Communities Collective, a community movement whose mission is to nurture community and personal well-being through the neuroscience of human resilience and the celebration of our collective strengths. She promotes a culture of resilience and connection by creating beautiful and engaging neuroscience-based resources, presenting workshops on brain health, supporting the development of diverse partnerships, and mentoring undergraduate interns.

Karina volunteers as the Co-Chair of the Public Awareness Committee for the Massachusetts Coalition to Build Community and End Loneliness, a coalition comprising over 240 members working to ensure that all residents feel connected to their community. She co-leads a team to support the various PR needs of the coalition and develops the coalition’s strategic communications plan.

Karina earned a B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavior and Theology from the University of Notre Dame. She loves to spend time gathering people together, whether that be over dinner, sharing experiences of beauty, or working on creative projects!
