Kimberly Burrowes

Assistance Senior Manager, Research to Action Lab at the Urban Institute

Kimberly Burrowes is a training and technical assistance senior manager with the Research to Action Lab at the Urban Institute, where she plans, coordinates, and delivers training and technical assistance in close consultation with local government agencies and nonprofits. She anchors her technical assistance work in high-quality evidence, bringing the expertise of scholars directly to community change-makers tackling policy challenges. Her research has focused on advancing equity in parks and public spaces, practices and policies for boosting mobility from poverty, and participatory engagement. 

Burrowes is on the board of Island City Lab, a DC Commissioner for Health Equity, and sits on the DC Parks taskforce. She has a BA in geography and international development and an MA in community development and urban planning from Clark University.
