Philip Bors, MPH, Senior Project Director, Healthy Places by Design
Phil Bors is a Senior Project Director at Healthy Places by Design (HPbD), providing direct coaching, technical support, and consultation to coalitions, government agencies, and funders that invest in community health, built environment, and social connection initiatives. He also coordinates peer learning networks of coalitions, community health organizers, and local leaderswho are implementing community change initiatives. He has co-designed and/or co-led social connection initiatives such as Activating Boston, the Action Guide for Socially Connected Communities grantee cohort, and regional social connection workshops in Michigan. Phil provides thought partnership and project leadership for organizations such as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Foundation for Social Connection, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, John Hancock, Michigan Fitness Foundation, and Michigan Health Endowment Fund. Philpreviously worked as an evaluator for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and began his health career as a paramedic in Florida and North Carolina. Phil received a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech and Master of Public Health from UNC-Chapel Hill.
