Tawanda Robbins is the visionary founder and CEO of Love in Action Project Inc., a nonprofit based in Charlotte, NC, established in 2010. An accomplished entrepreneur, singer-songwriter, and certified life and success coach, Tawanda combines over two decades of corporate experience in finance and operational management with her deep commitment to philanthropy. Her journey into community service was sparked by a transformative trip to Trinidad and Tobago, where she witnessed the profound effects of social isolation on individuals and communities.
Under Tawanda’s leadership, Love in Action Project has achieved remarkable milestones in combating social isolation and loneliness, having delivered over 100,000 handmade cards and art pieces to nursing home residents, Meals on Wheels recipients, and others facing transitional challenges across 29 cities in 15 states. Key initiatives, such as Love Occupy, Love 300, Love Pop-Up, the 5K Connection Walk, and Operation Save Christmas, are designed to foster social connections while raising awareness of the health risks associated with isolation and loneliness.
Engaging tens of thousands of volunteers, the organization provides crucial resources, including hygiene dignity Love Bags for the unhoused and thoughtful Christmas boxes for nursing home residents who might not otherwise receive gifts. Tawanda organizes events such as Love Pop-Up, Coffee and Connection, and Corporate Teambuilding to create a more connected and stronger world. With her diverse background and unwavering dedication to healing, Tawanda is devoted to enhancing community resilience and nurturing human connections in an era when loneliness poses a significant global health challenge. Through her efforts, she aspires to create a more interconnected society, one heartfelt gathering at a time.
