Michael Stallard

For more than 20 years, Michael Stallard has been promoting the importance of social connection in the workplace. He has published two books about it, Fired Up or Burned Out (Harper Collins, 2007) and Connection Culture (ATD Press, 2015 First Edition, 2020 Second Edition), and has contributed to several other books. Presently, he is working with Alan Mulally on a book about how Mulally’s “Working Together” leadership and management system cultivated a culture of human connection while he led the design and construction of the Boeing 777 and then led the turnaround of the Ford Motor Company when he was its CEO.

He speaks and leads workshops on cultures of human connection. His clients have included Costco, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NASA, Qualcomm, TCU, Turner Construction, U.S. Air Force, and Yale New Haven Health. He is the instructor for LinkedIn Learning’s popular course, Creating a Connection Culture, which is now available in 13 languages.

Earlier in his career, he was a principal and chief marketing officer for the private wealth management group of Morgan Stanley and managing director and chief marketing officer for the U.S. private bank of Citibank and of U.S. Trust. He has degrees in business, an MBA and JD, and was admitted to the Illinois bar.

He and his wife live in Greenwich, Connecticut. They are the parents of two grown daughters and the grandparents of three.
