Steve is a proven community builder, nonprofit director, and higher education professional. As an innovator and public speaker within the social health movement, he celebrates the places and stories that connect us. He believes that regular community connection greatly improves resiliency and therefore functions as social healthcare.

Steve serves as the co-chair of the workgroup to strengthen social infrastructures and environments for the Massachusetts Coalition to Build Community and End Loneliness. Under his leadership, the Coalition is implementing solutions to address loneliness and social isolation in communities across the Commonwealth.

With lived experience guiding individuals, peers, and diverse community groups toward resiliency, Steve leads inclusive placemaking and storytelling initiatives. He has over 11 years of experience in placemaking, leading design projects that engage stakeholder communities and result in the construction of socially connected, community-serving gathering spaces. He also has more than 11 years of experience leading retreats, storytelling workshops, and educational tours, programming specifically designed to cultivate ongoing human connection.

Steve believes building community connection to end loneliness is a grassroots bipartisan health initiative – and so much more! It’s all about meeting people where they’re at.
