On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court delivered a unanimous ruling at 12:52 p.m. that dismantled the “separate but equal” doctrine and reshaped American civil rights. This landmark anniversary commemorates the moment a 6:00 p.m. global broadcast announced to the world that state-sanctioned segregation in public schools was unconstitutional.
