Managing Director, The Arthur Blank Family Foundation

Elizabeth (Beth) Brown is a seasoned philanthropic leader with over 20 years of experience shaping community-focused giving and advancing national policy efforts. She brings deep expertise in community resilience, mental health, and purpose-driven leadership development.

As Managing Director for Mental Health & Well-Being at the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Beth leads the foundation’s national portfolio aimed at ensuring that young people ages 0–18 flourish mentally and emotionally by 2035. Her work focuses on prevention and upstream interventions—supporting parents and infants, strengthening resilience and belonging in schools, and helping teens develop healthy relationships with digital technology.

Previously, Beth served as President & CEO of Community Foundation Sonoma County, where she guided its growth to more than $230M in assets, expanded its network to 450 family funds and multiple affiliates, and aligned grantmaking with key community needs. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at the Council on Foundations and one of the nation’s largest community foundations, advising families and institutions on strategic philanthropy.

Beth holds a B.A. in Political Science from Davidson College (with Honors) and an M.A. in Writing from Johns Hopkins University. She lives with her husband, Tom, and is an avid yogini, meditator, and cook who is passionate about helping others find purpose and joy.
