Marisette Hasan is a 1981 graduate from the University of South Carolina with Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She is the Principal & CEO for LifeSprings Consulting Group, LLC. She is passionately engaged in supporting hospice and palliative care providers and policy advocates to increase access and decrease end of life disparities for patients and caregivers who live in Black and Brown and underserved communities. Marisette is a 2024 SC Palmetto Gold Nursing Award Recipient. This accolade celebrates nurses who exemplify excellence in nursing practice and commitment to the nursing profession. Marisette is also a licensed independent financial services representative with Primerica and is engaged in educating and helping families how to protect their loved ones with financial resources when they transition to heaven.
Nationally, is a Community Co-investigator for the Equal ACP & Equal Space African American Faith Advance Care Planning Research projects led by Dr. Kimberly Johnson.
Regionally, Marisette Hasan resides in Columbia, SC and serves as Program Coordinator Consultant for The SC Coalition for the Care of the Seriously Ill. CSI provides education for clinicians, SC citizens and organizational stakeholders re the benefits of POST, advance care planning conversations and how to execute their Advance Directives. Finally, Marisette Hasan is an ordained Elder and has served her local church, Chosen 2 Conquer International Ministries for more than 40 years. She teaches and assists with administrative organizational oversight of the following departments: Children & Youth Ministry, Women’s Life Groups and wherever she is needed, sometimes, it might be preparing an often-requested recipe, her home-made potato salad. In addition, she provides counseling support and hospital guidance, visitation, and support when needed. Elder Marisette answered the call of God on her life at the age of 21 while in nursing school. She is the published author of two books: I Am Enough and Grace for My Assignment. Elder Marisette is married to Bernard Hasan and they have two young adult children, Bernard Hasan, II and Sarah Marissa Hasan. Her passion and desire is to do as Jesus told his disciples in Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.”.
