Tyler Prochnow

Assistant Professor, Texas A&M University

Tyler Prochnow, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Health Behavior at Texas A&M University specializing in social network analysis and social connectedness as well as physical activity and mental health. His research examines how social connections influence health behaviors and mental health outcomes across diverse populations, with particular emphasis on health equity. To date, Dr. Prochnow has published articles over 115 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to over 160 national and international conference presentations. He also teaches social network analysis through graduate level courses and conference workshops and seminars. Dr. Prochnow serves as Principal Investigator on multiple NIH-funded projects investigating social connections. His NHLBI K01 grant examines reciprocal associations between social networks, built environments, and physical activity among youth during summer. He also leads an NIMHD R21 exploring dynamic social connections in type 2 diabetes management among Black/African American men.
