Draven Pointer

Draven Pointer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Architecture in 2020, where a pivotal Design-Build class sparked his passion for hands-on design. After weathering a tough pandemic job market (including late-night pizza deliveries), he began as a residential designer before seeking work that blended creativity, travel, and making. In 2021, he joined The Better Block Foundation, an urban design nonprofit that transforms public spaces worldwide. Over three and a half years, he’s collaborated with nearly 50 communities, growing from Architectural Designer to Director of Productions, where he oversees all built components for Better Block projects and manages the open-source Wikiblock Library. Draven is driven by the belief that design should be both beautiful and buildable, and he’s dedicated to empowering volunteers and students to shape their environments through hands-on creation.
