We’re excited to share that our Foundation for Social Connection ambassador, Cynthia Cushing, and Community Plate Executive Director, Karl Schatz, are establishing a Maine Coalition for Social Connection. The goal is to assemble a coalition of stakeholders: individuals, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, funders, and local and state government representatives, to work together to address the critical issues of loneliness, social isolation, social disconnection, and more generally promote social connectedness in Maine.
They are holding their first listening session on February 10 from 6-7pm. The guest speaker will be fellow F4SC Ambassador, Stephen Cote, from the Massachusetts Coalition to Build Community & End Loneliness who will share with us what they are doing in Massachusetts, how they are organized, and the impact they are having.
