Asiaha Butler is a long time resident of Englewood and Co-Founder and CEO of the Resident Association of Greater Englewood (R.A.G.E.), in Chicago. R.A.G.E. offers education, youth development, economic development, and civic empowerment to uplift, inspire, and change perceptions of her neighborhood. As an Aspen Fellow, she has spoken at the Aspen Ideas Festival, as well as the Illinois Black Legislative Caucus, and her work has been featured in over 100 local and national news stories including Chicago’s NBC 5 and WTTW and recently in the HBO Documentary, South to Black Power. She has been a keynote speaker at conferences like the Community Leadership Institute of NeighborWorks, and she leads and facilitates workshops which have included the Reclaiming Vacant Properties of Center for Community Progress.
