Co-Founder & Creative Director, Thyrd Space
Laila is a Kenyan-American creative and strategist with a STEM background from Arizona State University. She blends science, storytelling, and cultural organizing to design spaces for dialogue, healing, and joy.
She is the co-founder of thyrd space, a salon-style social club curating intimate gatherings at the intersection of art, identity, and kinship. Laila also serves as Programming and Engagement Manager for BlackNet AZ and sits on the Board of Directors for BAF.iP, where she champions Black and BIPOC communities through advocacy, resource-sharing, and arts-based connection.
Rooted in diasporic traditions and guided by care as a practice, Laila moves through the world as a natural gatherer, building the kinds of spaces she once needed.
