Structural Social Capital

The extent and intensity of associational links or activity in civic, political, and social life (OECD, 2001). Dimensions include network ties (density, diversity, bridging/bonding); civic engagement (participation in groups and associations); institutional trust and norms; and rules and procedures that govern interaction. Structural social capital refers to the existence of a network and is highly influenced by investments in infrastructure, community spaces, and neighborhood construction.
